A Doctor of Chiropractic is a physician that uses their hands and a drug-free approach to care for their patients. Chiropractors are trained in caring for a variety of patients, for those interested in pregnancy, pediatric, family and sports care. When visiting a chiropractor for the first time your care will receive an exam, diagnosis, and treatment. Chiropractors are educated in performing manipulation/adjustment, therapeutic exercises, and provide nutritional counseling.
Chiropractors are required to attend a nationally accredited 4 year doctoral program that includes 4200 hours clinical rotations and laboratory work. Chiropractors in the state of Florida are required to obtain a bachelor’s degree before attending graduate school, they are also required to take 4 board exams and a state exam. Once successfully completing the required national and state exams chiropractors are considered primary care physicians in the state of Florida.
